When I first started cloth diapering I stumbled across the CCbaby facebook page and was one of the first fans. Janna first introduced me to wool and has since taught me almost everything I know about it. Her facebook page has an abundance of knowledge about wool care, different types of wool and where they originate as well as a wide selection of sweaters so everything she makes is custom.
I received a pair of orange cashmere longies, a thick green nighttime soaker with the cutest pocket on the tush and a brown reusable snack bag with turquoise swirls on it to review. I had never used a reusable bag and honestly never thought about using one either. I really like how easy they are to care for, just toss them in the washer with regular laundry and done. I also love that the aplix closure ensures it is closed and it is fast, you don’t have to worry about lining up the grips/teeth like you do with the plastic throw away bags. I have been using the bag for quite awhile now and love it, it is great for quick kid snacks on the go with no worries of leaks and much more stylish than your typical clear plastic bag.
The cashmere longies are so incredibly soft and adorable with a star on the tush. My little one is a heavy wetter so Janna added an extra layer to the wet zone for me. I was a little hesitant to have my guy in a diaper with no cover per se just a pair of longies until I actually did it-and even ventured outside the house on a grocery store trip. They worked! And in the winter time they even kept his little legs warm. I was so excited to find a breathable solution to fitted diapering. I have no issues with PUL covers however I sometimes worry about getting air to his tush especially during his teething when he has a little rash.
It took me the longest to actually put my baby in a cloth diaper for overnights. I will admit we used disposable diapers for overnights for awhile after we had switched to cloth diapers just because I thought for a heavy wetter there was no overnight solution. I found a great cloth diaper and with the addition of Janna’s overnight weight soaker and the additional wet zone coverage again we had a dry night, yes I said DRY. No wet pj’s or sheets! And I love how easy to care for wool is. You only have to wash is every couple of weeks, and I think every mom can appreciate less laundry!
Janna at CCbaby is very active on her facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/ccbabycrafts for questions and has a wonderful selection of sweaters for custom orders and offers premade items in her hyenacart (http://hyenacart.com/ccbaby/) as well which isn’t limited to just wool items by the way. She offers leg warmers, skirties, shorties, ponchos, OS snap covers and scarves just to name a few.
