My grandmother tried to teach me to knit on quite a few
occasions when I was little. To say that
it was a bust is putting it lightly.
Luckily I had an awesome teacher in high school that crocheted and had lots of patience and she taught me how
to crochet. Thank goodness for that
wonderful lady because since then I have developed a deep love for making
things with my hands.
Today’s review and giveaway has been one of my favorites so
far. I was lucky enough to be sent not
one, but TWO, balls of yarn from Dayzee Chain Fiberworks to review. The very first thing I noticed when I got
them out of the box was how ridiculously soft they were. I’ve crocheted with all types of different
yarns, including some pretty expensive ones, but I have to say that the quality
of this yarn far surpasses anything I’ve worked with to date.
Once I had my two balls of yarn ready I had to think of
something really special to make with them, I wasn’t just going to use the yarn
on any old project. We recently found
out that the baby that will be joining us in the fall will be a baby girl so I
quickly decided that she needed a hat to wear home from the hospital. I chose a very basic pattern and added a
little flower to the hat to make it a little more feminine.
I think the hat turned out perfectly! I’ve had to show it off to everybody who I’ve
seen and I’ve received lots of compliments on just how soft the yarn is.
I think my favorite part about the yarn I was sent is that
Katie, the owner, only chooses the highest quality of yarn to hand-dye. That’s right, all of the yarn from Dayzee
Chain Fiberworks is hand-dyed right here in the USA! I love it when I can support an American
company.
Katie was not only nice enough to send me two balls of yarn,
but I’ve got two more to give away to one lucky reader! Good luck!
I learned that the yarn is hand dyed here in the U.S.
